Every spring, the May Day celebrations in Shevchenkivskyi Hai at the Museum of Folk Architecture and Life in Lviv (Shevchenkivskyi Hai) become a place where Ukrainian traditions, songs, and shared values come to life. This year, Avalon joined the event as a partner, supporting the preservation and development of the city’s and country’s cultural heritage.

For us, this partnership is not just about participating in the event, but about taking a conscious stand. We are convinced that it is in traditions that the foundation of our identity and future lies. By supporting the annual hayivky, we invest in an environment where culture is passed on—from generation to generation—forming a sense of belonging and a deeper connection to our Ukrainian roots.

The presence of veterans gave this year’s event special significance. For us, this is about respect and gratitude for the people who today defend not only our territory but also our values, language, and culture. That is why supporting such initiatives with their involvement is extremely important—it is about social unity, mutual support, and the shared living of traditions.

It is also important to us that this event sparks young people’s interest in Ukrainian culture. The hayivky in Shevchenko Park become a living space where tradition is modern, sincere, and relatable. It is precisely these kinds of events that help the younger generation feel and rethink their own cultural identity.

We are delighted to support the initiative of the Lviv City Council’s European Youth Capital Office, which works to develop the youth scene in Lviv and creates events that bring people together, inspire, and foster an active community.
