“City Makers” KSD school Field Module in Lviv: Testing Decisions in a Real Urban Environment

до 9 February 2026

A field module of the student community “City Makers” took place in Lviv — a format where urban ideas and management decisions are tested not in presentations, but in a real city environment. These meetings turn the city into a living laboratory: with its pace, density, infrastructure challenges, and the everyday needs of residents.

For Avalon, participating in such initiatives is a natural continuation of our approach to working with young professionals. We consistently cooperate with students from different universities and educational programs, because we believe that modern development is shaped not only by technologies, but also by knowledge — multiplied through practice, dialogue, and openness. Modules like this help deepen expertise, give young specialists access to real-life cases, and demonstrate how decisions work on the scale of a city, a district, and a residential environment.

The key focus of this discussion was on three topics that define the quality of development today: building density, the organization of the residential environment, and decisions as long-term value. Participants spoke about how to work with scale properly, where the line lies between efficiency and comfort, and how to design spaces so that they remain relevant in 5, 10, or even 20 years.

The walk-through and discussion took place at the Avalon UP residential complex. This location was not chosen by chance: Avalon UP is a true challenge project — both for the company and for contractors. It is the tallest residential building in western Ukraine, requiring maximum precision in engineering, planning, process organization, and working with the city context. That is exactly why it became a strong platform for a conversation about scale, responsibility, and the quality of the environment.

Avalon will continue to seek cooperation formats where young professionals can ask honest questions and receive answers from managers and experts who deal with real processes, risks, and decisions every day. Because the city of the future starts with dialogue today — and with people who are ready not only to dream about change, but to learn how to create it professionally.
